35–70mm is the everyday range: wide enough for street and travel, tight enough for portraits and details, without the stretch of a long telephoto. On full-frame it feels natural. On APS-C, Micro Four Thirds, and GFX, the same millimeters frame a little tighter, which is why 35mm, 45mm, and 56mm primes live here too.
